Responsibilities
- Assume overall accountability for jobsite safety and meeting contract requirements.
- Verify the accuracy of project financial forecasts, notice provisions, and billings to meet contract requirements and resolve potential claims.
- Ensure the team creates a project-specific quality plan aligned with the owner contract and contract documents.
- Ensure a closeout plan is created in alignment with contract documents.
- Provide leadership in motivating the project team and maintain a positive work environment.
- Direct and supervise project administration, superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain relationships with owners, subcontractors, and unions.
- Assume overall accountability for subcontracting strategy and the integrity of the buyout process.
- Negotiate contracts, lead risk mitigation plans, and review draft contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
- Ensure project compliance with insurance and bonds.
- Manage the design phase of a GMP or design-build project; lead development of GMP/lump sum submission.
- Oversee schedule planning and execution of multiple projects; manage schedule risks to prevent erosion.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of local market areas and lead networking strategies.
- Partner with business development to integrate sales strategies, client capture plans, and account plans.
- Optimize profit levers and gross profit margin tactics to achieve performance targets.
- Strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships to position Gilbane as the “Builder of Choice.”
- Responsible for the career development and coaching of team members.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members.
- Interpret and translate organizational strategy, ensuring team understanding of their role in accomplishing goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 12-18 years of experience leading projects of $100M or larger in markets such as healthcare, life sciences, or higher education, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay
The pay ranges from $215,000 to $280,000, plus benefits and a retirement program. Salary is determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with the team.
