About the role

The Senior Project Engineer position is part of the Water Resources team at Engineering Analytics, Inc., now part of MacKay. This role involves leading engineering reviews, conducting inspections, managing budgets and schedules, supervising teams, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering review and analysis
  • Hydrologic, hydraulic, structural, and geotechnical analyses
  • Water Resources Infrastructure Inspections
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and contracts
  • Supervise and mentor project engineers and technical staff
  • Collaborate with local governments, water users, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with water management and safety regulations

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field with coursework in fluid mechanics, hydraulics, open channel flow, soil mechanics, structural analysis, reinforced concrete and steel design
  • 10+ years’ relevant experience in a similar role
  • Registered P.E. in New Mexico
  • Extensive understanding of engineering principles, water infrastructure systems, and regulatory frameworks
  • Advanced expertise in project management, budgeting, and strategic planning
  • Demonstrated skill in managing complex, multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Strong problem-solving, high-level communication, and negotiation abilities
  • Proven ability to provide strategic leadership, develop talent, and foster cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a team
  • MS in Geotechnical engineering, hydrologic or hydraulic engineering sub-specialty is a plus
  • Experience with FERC part 12 review, PFMA analysis, and facilitation
