Senior Project Engineer, L'Oréal Operations
About the role
L’Oréal Operations is a division within L’Oréal that focuses on creating innovative, inclusive, and sustainable beauty solutions. We design, develop, source, manufacture, and distribute over 6 billion products annually, supporting over 36 brands across four L’Oréal divisions.
Responsibilities
- Effectively lead and implement manufacturing projects, including feasibility, dimensioning, design, RFP, purchasing, construction, installation, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with junior engineers, participate in site manufacturing strategy, and coordinate with Quality to improve hygiene and traceability compliance.
- Collaborate with EHS team to ensure compliance with latest standards.
- Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of plant technology and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades in factory operations.
- Design manufacturing operation layouts to optimize material flow and utilize technological production methods.
- Select, cost justify, purchase, install, upgrade, modify, and improve capital equipment used in processing and utilities.
- Design and supervise the construction of specialized equipment to enhance utility and mixing systems.
- Ensure projects meet all criteria, including safety, quality, performance, environmental, energy, and budgetary requirements.
- Analyze environmental impacts of current equipment design and manufacturing operations and propose improvements.
- Implement and manage L’Oreal EOS improvement processes such as OptiCIP, PLUS, TPM, Six Sigma, etc.
- Support, guide, and assist technical and maintenance personnel.
- Develop and implement appropriate preventive maintenance programs for technical and production personnel.
- Supervise the activities of sub-contractors, suppliers, and service personnel.
- Manage and implement L’Oreal policies and procedures, including Equal Employment Policy, safety, and health procedures.
- Manage multiple project timelines, budgets, and report frequently to management on key milestones and achievements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in major engineering discipline (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred).
- Five (5) or more years’ experience working in personal care manufacturing, equipment design, applied engineering, and/or operations. PMP, PE certification a plus but not required.
