SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER- IC

About the role

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Imperial Country. The ideal candidate will assist the Project Manager in planning and executing the construction project, manage project financials, and coordinate various aspects of the project.

Responsibilities

• Assists project management by managing the project budget, controlling expenses, and ensuring the success of office support functions.
• Manages, directs, and coordinates subcontractor compliance with the Contract Documents as delegated by the Project Manager.
• Preconstruction Services: Establish procedures for controlling contract drawings, initiates set-up of the job management system, and participates in constructability reviews.
• Project Start-up and Scheduling: Assists in developing the site utilization plan, reviews and coordinates Loss Prevention, SAP, and Quality Control Programs, and manages pre-work subcontractor orientation meetings.
• Project Administration, Coordination and Close-out: Reviews and processes submittal data and shop drawings, ensures materials are delivered on time, and submits close-out documents.
• Customer Relations: Builds relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups, promoting company values and exceeding customer expectations.
• Culture, Leadership and Employee Development: Promotes company values, communicates vision and purpose, and participates in personal career development.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field with 2 to 4 years of experience, or 5 to 6 years of progressive construction related trade experience. Leadership skills, the ability to manage schedules, and proficiency with computers are essential.

Pay

The base compensation range for the Senior Project Engineer role in S CA is $95,000 - $110,000 annually. This range may be modified in the future based on business needs and qualifications.

Schedule

The majority of work is performed on job sites in an office trailer or existing structures. Employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by company policies and weather conditions.

Working Conditions

Work involves frequent travel to other project sites as needed.

Education and Experience
