Description
MATT Construction, the General Contractor behind iconic projects like The Broad Museum and Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer. This role reports to the Assistant Project Manager and oversees Project Engineer responsibilities while mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and build relationships with clients/owners, owner’s reps, architects, and subcontractors, fostering repeat business and referrals
- Manage subcontractor qualification, procurement, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and punch lists
- Identify and address scope gaps, ensuring project compliance
- Collaborate with the project superintendent to maintain safety standards
- Develop 3-week look-ahead schedules and execute them effectively
- Recruit and mentor younger project engineers and interns
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Architecture, or Engineering preferred, but relevant experience will be considered
- 4+ years of commercial construction industry experience, including experience with fast-paced schedules and effective time management
- Knowledge of Type I and Type V construction methods, and proficiency in estimating and cost control
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications, and write clear scopes for bid documents
- Experience processing shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals, and proficiency in Excel, Bluebeam, BIM/Revit, P6, and Procore
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work at all levels of the organization
- A willingness to learn and a passion for building

Pay
$89,400 to $117,500 annually, depending on experience
