About the Role
The Senior Project Engineer I leads the overall execution of engineering for assigned projects or proposals, ensuring contract scope and quality requirements are met. This role serves as the primary technical contact with the client and may act as the overall Project Manager on smaller projects.

- Supports the delivery of a quality product and maintains the schedule to achieve project success.
- Manages Engineering input to support schedule development and interdisciplinary planning.
- Coordinates and monitors schedule updates and submittals.
- Works with discipline leads to ensure adherence to schedules, including Engineering activities supporting procurement.
- Coordinates with clients and discipline leads to determine design codes and establish overall design criteria.
- Develops and communicates the Engineering Scope of Work and Project Engineering Plan.
- Ensures disciplines stay within scope and as-sold intent, including interpreting scope, identifying budget deviations, and determining potential for change orders.
- Implements approved project changes and communicates schedule impacts to discipline leads.
- Verifies discipline project quality processes are followed.
- Holds recurring design coordination meetings to address barriers and ensure inter-discipline coordination.
- Coordinates with project management, procurement, and document control to establish vendor submittal documentation requirements.
- Coordinates discipline field support and ensures proper disposition of inquiries via the RFI system.
- Oversees work performed in accordance with approved manuals, procedures, and good engineering practices.
- Reviews and provides engineering input for weekly and monthly project status reports.
- Works with the project delivery team to deliver a quality product while maintaining schedule.
- Manages and communicates client expectations within the terms of the contract.
- Actively participates in, and may lead, project review meetings.
- Performs other assigned responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in any engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
- 6+ years of experience leading multiple disciplines (mechanical, structural, electrical, and control systems) in EPC Projects and Proposals.
- Desired experience with engineered fixed equipment, including above-ground storage tanks and low-temperature systems (LNG, ammonia, etc.), bulk storage systems (foundations, structural steel, vessels).
- Ability to understand client specifications, procurement, commissioning, start-up standards, documentation, vendor data approvals, and practices.
- Strong management skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Overtime and travel will be required.
