About the role

As a Senior Project Engineer (PE), you’ll play a critical role in construction project management within our Commercial division, supporting mechanical and piping projects across various markets. This role provides business and administrative support to ensure project goals are met within time and budget constraints. Location: Cypress, CA with anticipated travel in and around the greater Southern California metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning work schedules, determining manpower levels, and arranging project personnel assignments.
  • Coordinate project personnel activities to ensure progress on schedule and within budget.
  • Advise the Project Manager of potential problems, work interferences, or schedule difficulties and assist in resolving them.
  • Compose and edit letters, memos, reports, and procedures as required.
  • Oversee and process day-to-day administrative items (RFIs, submittals, material requests) per supervisor’s authorization.
  • Prepare special reports, studies, and statistical analyses with minimal instruction or supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or a similar field, and/or direct field and craft experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive project engineering experience at a mechanical contractor, with an emphasis on HVAC (mechanical piping and/or sheet metal) scopes.
  • Proficiency in construction software and enterprise tools (Excel, MS Project, Procore, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design-build project delivery experience.
  • Experience supporting additional scopes, such as plumbing.
  • Hands-on experience working directly with union field/craft/trades.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, and/or Autodesk (ACC) Build.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read printed and digital documents.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access trenches, attic spaces, and confined spaces.
  • Hearing ability to communicate in noisy environments.
  • Ability to recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Ability to grasp, handle, and manipulate small objects.

Pay

$85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year.
