About the role

Title: Sr. Project Engineer - Geotechnical
At QISG, we are seeking a Sr. Project Engineer delivering critical infrastructure for North America’s power generation and transmission systems. This role offers the opportunity to apply geotechnical and geo-structural engineering expertise on large-scale, design-build energy projects that are shaping the future of the grid.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of engineers, designers, and support staff, working on various types of civil engineering structures, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Execute assignments requiring application of standard and advance engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out geo-structural engineering tasks.
  • Perform engineering analyses for design of deep foundations (helical piers, drilled shafts, micropiles, driven piles, anchors, and others) and retaining structures utilizing any one of the following software: LPILE, GROUP, FAD, GRLWeap, SHAFT, APILE, RISA, INVENTOR, or SPColumn.
  • Perform limit equilibrium and finite element stability modeling for soil and rock slopes and retaining structures utilizing any one of the following software: SLIDE, RS2, Plaxis, DIPS, Rocslope, or others.
  • Interface closely with other project-level and senior leadership personnel within the company, including geotechnical, geological, structural, transmission line, substation, and civil engineering, GIS, and construction management team members.
  • Participate in oversight and management of field subcontractor activities, such as geotechnical drilling and testing and/or forensics studies.
  • Develop written reports and/or provide verbal communication of information in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Implement and oversee quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure
  • Minimum ten (10) years design experience in the geotechnical, transmission, or substation engineering field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision and maximum efficiency in a small or medium size office setting
  • Master’s degree in the field of geotechnical engineering - preferred

Benefits

Compensation Range: The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $148,100.00/Yr. - USD $199,500.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
