About the role
Lead facilities and infrastructure projects typically exceeding $100K, including upgrades, installations, and lifecycle improvements to central utilities, building systems, and site infrastructure.
Develop project scopes, specifications, and Statements of Work (SOW) in alignment with facilities engineering standards, operational requirements, and project charters.
Career path: This role is part of the Facilities Engineering team within Power Systems at Rolls-Royce.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement of equipment, materials, and contractor services in partnership with Purchasing and approved vendors.
- Manage the planning, execution, installation, and commissioning of facilities systems, including central utilities, building infrastructure, and supporting site services.
- Facilitate communication with internal stakeholders, contractors, and service providers regarding project schedules, milestones, risks, and operational impacts.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, including schedule delays, operational conflicts, and resource constraints, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Support continuous improvement of facilities operations and maintenance processes, applying lean principles and best practices to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Investigate and troubleshoot infrastructure and facilities system issues, including utilities, building services, and site infrastructure, working with maintenance teams and subject matter experts.
- Develop cost-effective engineering solutions for facilities upgrades, repairs, and infrastructure improvements while maintaining operational continuity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Facilities Maintenance, EHS, Operations, IT, and external contractors) to ensure projects meet operational, safety, and budget requirements.
- Analyze technical and operational challenges related to facilities systems and develop structured project plans to address infrastructure needs.

- Support additional facilities engineering initiatives and strategic infrastructure projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering and 5 years of experience in engineering and project management, or 9 years of experience in engineering and project management.
Preferred qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of industrial and commercial construction practices, skilled-trade disciplines, and building maintenance operations, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural building systems.
- Excellent knowledge of facilities infrastructure and central utility systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, water systems, fire protection systems, and building automation or control systems.
- Excellent knowledge of facilities engineering principles, including lifecycle management of building systems, preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, and reliability improvement for critical site infrastructure.
- Excellent project management capability and strong understanding of project management methodologies, including project planning, budgeting, contractor coordination, schedule management, and execution of infrastructure or facilities improvement projects.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-through skills, with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining focus on operational priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with internal stakeholders, maintenance teams, contractors, consultants, and external service providers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly when addressing complex or unusual facilities infrastructure issues and developing practical engineering solutions.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable building codes, zoning restrictions, construction practices, contract provisions, licensing requirements, and insurance requirements associated with industrial and commercial construction and facility upgrades.
- Excellent understanding of contractor management, construction documentation, and vendor coordination, including development and oversight of Statements of Work (SOW), contractor supervision, and project completion processes.

Pay
$94,160 - $153,010-Annually
Schedule
Traditional work schedule that requires five (5) eight (8) hour days during a Monday through Friday work schedule, with the eligibility of overtime as business requires.
