Senior Project Engineer - Civil

Location: Anywhere in Bangladesh • Full-time, site-based position on a 2-year contractual employment basis • Reports to: Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Civil to lead and supervise civil construction activities at the Purbachal project site. The incumbent will ensure construction works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and HSE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review, maintain, and interpret site drawings, topographical surveys, construction drawings, reinforcement drawings, and bar bending schedules.
• Carry out site setting-out activities with the Surveyor and conduct surveys to ensure construction accuracy.
• Operate and utilize surveying and leveling equipment, including auto levels and laser levels.
• Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with GFC drawings, project specifications, approved method statements, and quality standards.
• Monitor and supervise daily site activities, manpower deployment, productivity, progress, and workmanship.
• Maintain site diaries, inspection reports, QA documentation, progress reports, and other project records.
• Implement and maintain Permit-to-Work systems and ensure HSE requirements are properly followed.
• Coordinate with the Site Coordinator, Project Manager, project team, subcontractors, and suppliers for material planning, resource allocation, equipment requirements, and site operations.
• Attend meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors as required.
• Provide technical guidance to Junior Engineers, Supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Prepare and review Work Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Job Hazard Analyses, and related construction documents.
• Conduct daily site coordination meetings and monitor project progress against the approved schedule.
• Identify delays, risks, and technical issues and recommend corrective actions to the Project Manager.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, local regulations, and industry best practices.
• Supervise Junior Engineers, Surveyors, Supervisors, Subcontractors, and Casual Workers.

Requirements

• 8 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering and construction supervision.
• Proficiency in construction supervision, construction management, site supervision, project engineering, and civil engineering design.
