About the role
Martin/Martin is seeking an experienced civil senior project engineer to join our Kansas City, Missouri office. The position offers opportunities for civil design throughout the Kansas City area and nationally. Ideal candidates are motivated self-starters with strong technical, project management, and client communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assists in conceptual design.
- Assists in fee determination and proposal preparation.
- Fills out Project Setup Forms and reviews/fills out work authorizations.
- Establishes a QA/QC plan for each project.
- Acts as a mentor for younger engineers and assists with their career development.
- Attends project meetings and represents Martin/Martin, Inc. during design and construction.
- Follows up on collection of account receivables.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in site development.
- Has a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Kansas or the ability to obtain one within three months.
- Eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Able to work in the Kansas City area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently for extended periods of time.
- Strong written, technical, and interpersonal skills.
- Committed to client services and a team-based approach.
- Attention to detail, delivering quality work products, and excellent client services.
- Able to work with a wide variety of clients, regulators, and authorities.
- Proven marketing/business development skills.
Desired
- Experience using AutoCAD/Civil3D to produce civil construction documents.
- Strong knowledge of working with municipal, commercial, and other related site development projects.
Skills & Abilities
- Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites.
- Remain stationary for long periods of time.
- Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse.
- Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder.
- Identify color.
- Read, communicate, and document in English.
- Determine and exchange accurate information.
- Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Base Salary
- Base Salary Review: This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin’s annual base salary increase review process.
- Annual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program.
