Senior Project Engineer
Job Summary
The Senior Project Engineer will manage/support the execution of industrial manufacturing capital projects, develop project documentation, and provide direction and mentoring to lower-level engineers.
Responsibilities
- Develop project scopes, specifications, schedules, and investment grade cost estimates for multi-discipline industrial manufacturing capital projects worldwide with value up to $10M.
- Provide project management and oversight for all aspects and phases of multiple project assignments concurrently and driving projects to completion.
- Perform and/or review detailed engineering in one or more disciplines and coordinate comments and resolve design issues with engineering firms and contractors.
- Design and specify safe equipment and processes, ensuring ergonomics are considered in all areas of design, and identifying and eliminating potential safety and health hazards during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, driving a zero-incident project environment.
- Design and specify environmentally compliant equipment and processes, addressing permit requirements and identifying and addressing potential environmental issues during project execution.
- Mentor lower-level engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, electrical, chemical, or materials engineering.
- 10+ years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing industry.
- 5+ years of project management experience, managing projects up to $10M.
- Ability to travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project proficiency.
- Experience in fiberglass, glass, or roofing manufacturing industries.
- PMP Certification.
- SAP experience.
- Experience writing, reviewing, and negotiating technical specifications and contracts.
- Experience with PHA, HazOp design reviews.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Experience with continuous process improvement (Lean) in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, negotiating skills, and process troubleshooting skills.
- High level of drive and initiative to complete assigned tasks and investigate and seek out improvement opportunities.

Benefits
Flexible work arrangements are possible, but the ideal candidate should be local to one of our plants - Scottsboro, AL or Milan, OH preferred or based in Littleton, CO Technical Center. The role involves managing capital engineering projects for the Roofing Systems Division, typically overseeing 5-10 projects per year with a value range of $3-10M.
Pay
Salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Typically, the travel requirement is 30-50%, but can vary based on project needs. The role requires being available for project needs, which may involve longer stays during startup/installation/commissioning phases.
