Senior Project Engineer
About the role
You will lead the planning and execution of capital and operational projects, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets are consistently met. You will coordinate cross-functional project teams, working closely with operations, engineering, contractors, and suppliers to drive successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Manage project schedules and milestones, proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and mitigating delays
- Oversee project budgets and financial performance, tracking costs, reviewing invoices, and ensuring alignment with approved estimates
- Perform site visits and inspections, verifying construction quality, safety compliance, and adherence to engineering specifications
- Prepare, review, and manage technical documentation including drawings, contracts, change orders, schedules, and progress reports
- Provide technical leadership, supporting equipment selection, process verification, sing, and performance validation
- Ensure projects meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards, aligning with company policies and industry requirements
- Utilize project management software such as Microsoft Project to plan, organize, track, and report on project execution
- Deliver projects that enable operational excellence, supporting capacity growth, reliability, and long-term business performance
Requirements
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management, or a related discipline required. Proven project management experience, with 5+ years delivering projects in industrial or manufacturing environments. Demonstrated success with large-scale capital projects, including projects with budgets of $10M or greater. Strong financial and scheduling acumen, capable of developing estimates, managing budgets, and maintaining baseline schedules. Highly effective communicator and collaborator, able to align diverse stakeholders and lead teams toward shared objectives. Proficiency with project and engineering tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD. Professional credentials preferred, including PMP certification, Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, Lean or Six Sigma experience, or advanced degrees (MS, MBA, PhD).
Qualifications
Willingness to travel approximately 10% domestically and internationally to support project execution.
Skills
Proven ability in providing technical leadership, supporting equipment selection, process verification, sing, and performance validation.
