Job Summary The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading complex engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring all technical efforts are delivered on time and within budget. This role serves as the technical lead, ensuring designs meet all customer specifications and requirements while balancing cost, schedule, and performance objectives. The Senior Project Engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and customers, and will contribute significantly to proposal development and project planning. Additionally, this role will provide mentorship to junior engineers. Job Responsibilities Responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a complex project or projects on time and budgetEnsure design compliance with all project requirementsReview customer specifications and requirements, and lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignmentsCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as requiredParticipate heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposalsInteract with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progressSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationAttend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetingsMentor and coach less experienced engineersServe as a communication pathway between the customer and the project teamGuide multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals through relationships with line management and the Program OfficeBalance customer demands against contract scope and schedule to facilitate high quality on-time deliverables Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Minimum of 10 years of experienceMastery of technologies and domain knowledgeExpected to have knowledge and experience in multiple engineering disciplinesExperience in project engineering, project management, or product management. Ability to independently lead a team of engineers to complete a complex project or projects U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
