Senior Project Engineer

About the role

MasTec is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead complex infrastructure projects in the utilities and energy sector. In this role, you will oversee engineering design, planning, and execution for power delivery, oil and gas, renewables, and communications projects. You'll coordinate cross-functional teams, ensure safety and quality compliance, manage schedules and budgets, and perform field visits to support installation and commissioning. At MasTec, you'll contribute to critical North American infrastructure while growing your technical and leadership skills in a safety-focused, team-oriented culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of utility and energy infrastructure projects
• Develop and review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans
• Conduct field visits to oversee construction, installation, and commissioning
• Collaborate with clients, utilities, and internal stakeholders on project requirements
• Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and progress updates
• Support constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
