Senior Project Engineer

About the role

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for complex customer engagement, both internally and externally, managing New Product Development project schedules, coordinating Engineering Change Requests, and supporting risk management and mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Create, complete, and manage New Product Development project schedules (Gantt charts)
• Support Senior Director, Chief Engineer, and Program Managers in tracking budgets and forecasts
• Coordinate and process Engineering Change Requests and Notices (ECRs/ECNs)
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, serving as the principal contact for design engineering and external customer communications
• Interface with customers on order changes, ensuring test and quality standards are met
• Communicate with customers regarding contract specifications and requirements
• Affirmatively update department metrics as assigned
• Assist in developing project engineering and management processes
• Lead a New Product Development project and coordinate with design engineers
• Work in a cross-functional team, providing technical guidance and support
• Perform technical writing tasks as needed
• Ensure high levels of accuracy and adherence to deadlines

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter, organized, thorough, and meticulous
• Skilled in project engineering with PMBOK techniques
• Significant knowledge of standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures
• Resourceful and well-organized
• Ability to lead a New Product Development project
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Previous experience with Integrated Project Teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
• Five years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of PMBOK
• Valve design familiarity (though not required)
• U.S. Citizenship
