Senior Project Engineer
Summary
The Senior Project Engineer supports field activities and works closely with the Project Manager on multiple small projects or one medium to large-sized project. This role often functions as a go-to person and may have supervisory responsibilities.Roles and Responsibilities
- Supports Project Manager on the Management of Cost and Schedule
- SUBMIT AND/OR APPROVE MONTHLY BILLINGS AND EARNED VALUE REPORTS
- MANAGES DEVELOPMENT OF CRITICAL PATH PROJECT SCHEDULE DOCUMENTS ON ONE MEDIUM TO LARGE-SIZED PROJECT, OR MULTIPLE SMALL TO MEDIUM-SIZED PROJECTS
- MANAGES ANALYSIS OF TARGETS AND GOALS, JOB COST SUMMARIES, AND OTHER REPORTS
- WORKS WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT AND PROJECT MANAGER TO AFFECT POSITIVE CHANGE RELATING TO PROJECT RESOURCES
- SUPPORTS THE PROJECT MANAGER BY REVIEWING AND NEGOTIATING CHANGE ORDERS AND TRACKS STATUS
- MANAGES PROCUREMENT PROCESS AND MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE PROJECT MANAGER
- APPROVES FIELD PURCHASE ORDERS FOR STANDARD PURCHASE PACKAGES
- ANALYZES PROJECT FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE AND PARTICIPATES IN THE PROJECT FINANCIAL REVIEWS
- SUPPORTS PROJECT ENGINEERING AND QUALITY
- REQUIRES ABILITY TO MANEUVER IN AND OUT OF JOB SITE TRAILERS AND VARIOUS STAGES OF JOB SITE TERRAINS
- SUPPORTS PROJECT SAFETY AND RISK MANAGEMENT
- REQUIRES ABILITY TO MANEUVER IN AND OUT OF JOB SITE TRAILERS AND VARIOUS STAGES OF JOB SITE TERRAINS
- OVERSEES THE WORK OF DIRECT REPORTS
- REQUIRES ABILITY TO MANEUVER IN AND OUT OF JOB SITE TRAILERS AND VARIOUS STAGES OF JOB SITE TERRAINS
- ENSURES A SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT
- REQUIRES ABILITY TO MANEUVER IN AND OUT OF JOB SITE TRAILERS AND VARIOUS STAGES OF JOB SITE TERRAINS
- PARTICIPATES IN TRAINING / CERTIFICATIONS
- REQUIRES ABILITY TO MANEUVER IN AND OUT OF JOB SITE TRAILERS AND VARIOUS STAGES OF JOB SITE TERRAINS
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years’ of experience, or 8 years’ of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of construction software such as Primavera, Timberline
- Ability to understand, customize and modify spreadsheets
- FREQUENTLY REQUIRED TO USE HANDS TO HANDLE OR FEEL
- REGULARLY REQUIRED TO SIT, TALK AND LISTEN
- OCASIONALLY REQUIRED TO STAND, WALK, AND REACH WITH HANDS AND ARMS
- MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO EXERT PHYSICAL EFFORT, HANDLING AVERAGE WEIGHT OBJECTS UP TO 20 POUNDS
