Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships, including proposal development, presentations, contract management, and client communication.
- Participate in the entire project process, from the design phase through the end of construction.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by coordinating and monitoring service quality and performance.
- Manage construction administration for projects, including bidding, shop drawings, RFIs, and periodic on-site observation during construction to monitor compliance with construction documents.
- Manage and coordinate the design team, including outside design firms, consultants, and internal resources.
- Apply an understanding of building costs and their drivers while managing the design process to deliver projects within established cost parameters.
- Develop proposals for design services with a high degree of success in competitive situations, and manage the delivery of those services within estimated costs.
- Oversee the production of project design drawings and construction documents.
- Manage projects ranging from $2 million to $80 million annually.
- Initiate and implement process changes that lead to more cost-efficient delivery of design services.
- Mentor and train others in a collaborative team environment.
- Communicate change concepts, engage in constructive discussions about change and its impact, and lead change initiatives as needed.
- Identify multiple solutions to a problem and evaluate which solutions are most effective.
- Use creativity and innovation to think outside the box with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a licensed architect in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field under a curriculum accredited by NAAB or NCARB.
- Five or more years of experience in an architectural firm designing and managing multifamily residential projects.
- Proficiency in Revit is required; proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Planner, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam Revu is preferred.
- Demonstrated high level of architectural competence, both individually and as a leader within a team.
- Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal.
