About the role
Senior Project Accountants are responsible for the accurate monthly costing and accounting of project-related financial data. They work with project teams to ensure maximum profit with minimum risk, including:
- Monthly requisitioning process
- Cost reporting and analysis (ACRs)
- Receivables management
- Disbursements management and policy
- Sales and Use tax compliance
- Project status report submission
This position supports the Project team and responsible Account Manager, reporting to the Director of Project Accounting. A Senior Project Accountant may also supervise a Project Accountant.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- 2+ years of experience with job costing methodologies and software to track and allocate project costs (labor, materials, equipment, overhead)
- 2+ years of experience reviewing project contracts, identifying key financial terms, and ensuring compliance
- 2+ years of experience reviewing Subcontractors Estimate For Payment (EFP) against the Subcontract Status Report, Subcontractors AIA, and ACR
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and JD Edwards
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or 8 years of equivalent experience plus 5 years of relevant experience
