About the role
The Senior Program Quality Engineer role is located in Tucson, Arizona and is an Onsite position. The role serves as a member of the Advanced Common Products Program Quality team, ensuring successful program performance and delivering conforming products/services through effective collaboration and compliance with processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the Advanced Common Products Program Quality team, ensuring successful program performance, deliver conforming products/services through effective collaboration and compliance with processes and procedures.
- Closely interface with internal customers and key partners to establish effective relationships.
- Manage and impact across multiple levels of stakeholders, as it is vital to the success of this role.
- Develop and implement strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans that will closely affect the programs' implementation and influence.
- Improve processes or systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation skills.
- Assure inclusion of quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program proposals.
- Monitor / lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.
- Generate new Cost of Quality (CoQ) projects to reduce costs on the program.
- Support implementation of APQP as applicable.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering and/or Manufacturing.
- Working experience with Quality Management Systems, to include ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102.
- Experience leading teams in failure and root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings.
- Working experience with technical data package review (TDP) and document repository.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification and/or Program Management Certification.
- Experience with Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) or another Continuous Improvement Program.
- Experience with resources such as 5S, Root Cause, Process Mapping, Lean Six Sigma (6Sigma).
- Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145 and utilizing resources such as Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Key Characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA and/or Control Plans.
- Experience in First Article Inspections per AS9102.
- Experience with Configuration Control System such as Common Product Data Management (cPDM) and/or Common As-Built System (CABS).
- Experience Reviewing Statement of Work (SOW), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Knowledge of Purchase Order Quality Requirements (Q-Notes, STAMP).
- Experience presenting, reviewing and/or approving changes through a formal Change Control Board (CCB).
- Experience comprehending and translating system requirements as well as contractual requirements to ensure full compliance is flowed down through product, assembly, and test documentation.
- Experience working as an individual contributor and in a dynamic team environment.
- Experience working with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment.
