Senior Professional, Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

Prepare basic deliverables and products including calculations, drawings, and specifications
Set deadlines and assigns responsibilities
Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects
Design mechanical systems including calculations of heating and cooling loads while adhering to the firm’s QA/QC process
Select and layout mechanical equipment such as pumps, chillers, fans and boilers
Develop project specifications
Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future and or current projects
Ensure responsibilities are delivered and adhere to industry standards for design, safety, and functionality
Meet client’s project goals and objectives
Assist in business development by pursuing new work including participation in client presentations
Assist in the firm’s human resource efforts through training and mentoring junior firm members
Enhance the firm’s reputation by accepting ownership for internal and external client requests
Update job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations and obtaining certifications in area of expertise

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior buildings mechanical design experience
  • Engineer in Training Certification
  • Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, decision making and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Able to meet and exceed client expectations

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • Essential Professional Licensure/Certification
  • Experience managing small to mid-size projects
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired
