Senior Product Owner, Product Development
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Product Owner, Product Development to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in bringing new and enhanced products to market within our Issuer Credit Processing product domain.
Responsibilities
- Own and prioritize the backlog, ensuring alignment with product goals and client delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed user journeys and stories.
- Facilitate product signoff on features before they are marked as Done in JIRA, ensuring all acceptance criteria are met.
- Provide subject matter expertise in Optis issuer processing functions, such as PCF, SSUPDATE, OCS, authorizations, non-monetary and monetary transaction flows.
- Engage with system architects and event streaming developers to capture user requirements related to event-based workflows, stream processing, and data availability.
- Anticipate and manage cross-team dependencies involving APIs and integration layers and work proactively to mitigate delivery risks or technical blockers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of proven experience as a product owner, product manager, or similar role within an issuer processor, acquirer, or card network platform.
- Experience with Optis issuer processing platform strongly preferred.
- Experience collaborating with development teams working in both mainframe and Java-based environments, with an ability to understand and communicate technical constraints and tradeoffs.
- Strong grasp of the full software development lifecycle, with expertise in translating business requirements into technical stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Skilled in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies; proficient in JIRA, Confluence, and similar work management tools.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a consistent track record of working effectively across product, engineering, QA, and client-facing teams.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities with attention to detail and a proactive mindset toward problem-solving and delivery management.
Qualifications
- To be considered, you must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization.
- You must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Financial Services industry experience is preferred.
- An Engineering background is preferred.
- A Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
- Detailed knowledge and experience working with a broad range of financial risk management solutions in the banking industry.
- Technical knowledge related to financial reporting, analysis and business intelligence.
- Experience working in bank or financial institution, leading the finance or financial risk management areas including budgeting, planning, forecasting, profitability analysis and funds transfer pricing areas.
Skills
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with JIRA, Confluence, and similar work management tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with API development and integration.
- Knowledge of financial systems and processes.
Benefits
At Fiserv, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $90,000.00 - $151,200.00, depending on experience. We also provide an annual incentive opportunity, which may be delivered as a mix of cash bonus and equity awards in the Company’s sole discretion.
