Senior Product Marketing Manager
About the role
UKG is the Workforce Operating Platform that puts workforce understanding to work. With the world's largest collection of workforce insights, and people-first AI, our ability to reveal unseen ways to build trust, amplify productivity, and empower talent, is unmatched. It's this expertise that equips our customers with the intelligence to solve any challenge in any industry — because great organizations know their workforce is their competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product messaging and positioning for assigned product areas, grounded in deep buyer understanding and a clear competitive frame.
- Build narratives that connect capability to customer outcome — with a clear arc that answers why this matters, why UKG, and why now.
- Develop and maintain customer-facing content including one-pagers, solution briefs, pitch decks, and web copy — with minimal direction.
- Drive continuous improvement of messaging based on win/loss data, field feedback, and customer conversations.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Operate as a strategic partner to Product Management, Sales, and Marketing — not just a content producer, but a thought partner who shapes how the team goes to market. Drive alignment on messaging and positioning across campaigns, sales plays, and launch materials before they reach the field. Bring structure and a clear point of view to ambiguous or contested situations — synthesize inputs, identify the throughline, and move teams forward. Proactively identify and close gaps between product direction, market messaging, and buyer expectations.
- Product Area Coverage: You will develop and maintain deep fluency across a portfolio of product areas that includes: Frontline workforce engagement — communication, connection, and experience for hourly and deskless employees across industries such as retail, healthcare, and manufacturing. Next-generation HR service delivery — AI-assisted workflows, case management, and self-service capabilities that modernize how employees get help. Mobile workforce experience — the primary access point for millions of frontline employees, with a growing set of capabilities built for workers on the go. Emerging AI capabilities — agentic workflows and intelligent automation that expand what UKG can do for customers. Across these areas, you will own enablement assets, lead launch planning, and drive a competitive narrative — in close partnership with Product Management and senior leadership.
- Market Research & Competitive Intelligence: Maintain an informed, current point of view on market trends, buyer dynamics, and competitive positioning across assigned product areas. Synthesize inputs from the field, customers, analysts, and competitive signals into actionable insights — with a perspective on what they mean for strategy, not just a summary of what was said. Develop and evolve competitive intelligence resources that help Sales win and help the team position with confidence.
- Launch & Program Execution: Lead end-to-end launch planning and execution for assigned product areas, coordinating across Product, Marketing, and Sales. Manage stakeholder reviews, asset production timelines, and cross-functional dependencies with a bias toward proactive communication. Track and report on post-launch performance — adoption signals, field feedback, and content effectiveness — with a point of view on what to optimize.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in product marketing or a closely related field; B2B SaaS experience required.
- Proven ability to develop messaging and positioning that drives measurable results in the field.
- Strong storytelling and written communication skills — you can make a complex idea land for a C-suite buyer, a frontline manager, or a sales rep.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment and influence without formal authority.
- Experience running product launches end-to-end, from positioning through field enablement and performance measurement.
- A developed point of view on markets, buyers, and competitive dynamics — and the confidence to defend it.
- Familiarity with workforce technology, HR tech, or adjacent markets is a strong plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
