About the Role
Accountable for the strategy and product lifecycle for a Product Category under the Overhead Door and Wayne Dalton brand names. Lead a cross-functional Product Business Team that owns the action plan to deliver increased sales and margins to the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle—from opportunity assessment and concept development through launch, commercialization, and lifecycle optimization—to drive adoption, portfolio growth, and market expansion.
- Own the full P&L and portfolio performance for the product line, including pricing, margin, optimization, cost management, and performance analytics to achieve growth and profitability targets.
- Develop and manage a multi-year product and portfolio roadmap aligned to customer needs, market trends, and strategic business priorities; partner cross-functionally to ensure execution and alignment.
- Lead the creation of robust business cases and value propositions that quantify customer value, competitive differentiation, and ROI to inform portfolio investment decisions and resource prioritization.
- Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to build data-driven pricing strategies and segmentation models that maximize market share, customer value, and profitability.
- Lead voice-of-customer initiatives, competitive intelligence, and market insight programs to inform product strategy, innovation priorities, and differentiated positioning.
- Translate customer and market insights into clear product requirements, go-to-market strategies, and launch plans while forecasting financial outcomes and ensuring successful commercialization.
- Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities across products, technologies, channels, and customer segments; ensure alignment with broader portfolio strategy and long-term business objectives.
- Special assignments or tasks assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Qualifications
- A minimum of seven years of progressive product management experience, including hands-on work within a manufacturing environment and sales organizations/channels.
- Background in product strategy and product management, with demonstrated experience developing product plans, market strategies, and portfolio recommendations.
- Experience in stage-gate process management, driving innovation, product commercialization, SKU rationalization, and voice-of-customer initiatives.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to deconstruct complex challenges and guide cross-functional teams to solutions.
- Experience leveraging brand marketing, market research, sales training, and field communications to support product positioning and market execution.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business or engineering is required.
- MBA preferred.
