Senior Product Manager - Technical, Amazon Key
About the Role
At Amazon Key, we are on a mission to empower customers to easily manage access to their homes and businesses. As part of the Amazon Devices and Ring organization, we invent new devices, software, and services to solve critical access problems for our B2C and B2B customers. We are seeking a hands-on, AI first Sr Product Manager - Tech who is passionate about building products from the ground up — with a strong emphasis on design, quality, performance, and customer satisfaction. This is not a coordination role; you will be in the craft of building — writing specs, making prototype, making architectural trade-off decisions, defining AI-powered experiences, shipping product alongside engineers, defining and tracking metrics and results. You will lead product development for consumer- and/or business-facing products globally, spanning hardware, firmware, and software. Amazon Key operates with a startup mentality — small teams, high ownership, fast iteration, and ambitious goals. We move quickly, make decisions with incomplete information, and expect our PMs to be builders first. If you thrive in ambiguity, bias toward action over process, and want to shape products that reach millions of customers — this is the role for you.
Responsibilities
- Own the definition, design, development, and launch of hardware and software products that delight customers — hands-on, from concept to ship
- Lead the development of product strategy and vision supported by internal and external analysis, including AI-native and agentic AI experiences
- Define creative, high-quality, simple product roadmaps and make crisp prioritization decisions
- Write detailed business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications that engineering teams can build from directly
- Rapidly prototype solutions independently — create mocks, wireframes, or basic functioning prototypes without waiting for engineering or design resources
- Partner deeply with software and hardware engineering teams daily — participate in design reviews, make trade-off calls, and unblock delivery
- Manage backlog prioritization and trade-offs among customer feedback, business opportunities, performance, and operational load
- Proactively identify and resolve strategic and technical issues that may impair the team's ability to meet goals
- Drive measurable business outcomes — define success metrics, track results, and iterate based on data
