Project ManagementFull-time

Are you interested in helping guide the product strategy for Amazon DynamoDB? This is your opportunity to be an owner, builder, and innovator for a distributed NoSQL database that hundreds of thousands of customers rely on daily. Together with a diverse team, you will work backwards from customer needs to define the future of DynamoDB.

About the role

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

The DynamoDB team’s mission is to serve the world’s most critical and demanding applications. DynamoDB is a NoSQL database that delivers consistent performance at any scale. Many of the world's fastest growing businesses such as Disney+, Snap, Zoom, Lyft, Airbnb, and Redfin depend on the scale and performance of DynamoDB to support some of the world’s most demanding applications. Hundreds of thousands of AWS customers choose DynamoDB for mobile, web, gaming, ad tech, IoT, and other applications that need low-latency data access at any scale.

The primary responsibility of this role is to own and drive key areas of the product. You will define the product strategy, roadmap, and pricing for a core set of capabilities, working with stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for customer experience, adoption, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Own key areas of focus (or a mission) aligned to helping customers succeed using DynamoDB, such as event-driven architectures, scalability/serverless, developer experience, data protection/security, price/performance, extensibility, and global app development.
  • Define the strategy for your area of focus, work backwards from customer needs, and leverage data such as service telemetry, user feedback, and industry trends to author PRFAQs, pricing, and naming narratives.
  • Hold yourself and partners accountable for high-quality customer outcomes. Launching a capability is only the start; you are responsible for growing usage, iterating on customer feedback, and education.
  • Partner with engineering, legal, documentation, marketing, sales, solution architecture, finance, GTM specialists, and more to drive growth.
  • Provide clarity where there is ambiguity, act as a builder, and remain customer-obsessed.
  • Engage with customers to understand their problems, analyze service and business metrics, and iterate on product decisions with the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with partners in marketing, sales, solution architecture, legal, support, documentation, and other teams to ensure successful product outcomes.
  • Use code, technical documentation, and architecture diagrams to understand problems and communicate solutions, as customers are developers and technical decision-makers.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product management experience with internet business experience.
  • 5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager.
  • 3+ years of technical experience (software development, network development, IT, or other related fields).
  • Experience taking a product from conception and definition through engineering design and to market.
  • Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through go-to-market (GTM).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
  • Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance, and optional supplemental life plans).
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Mental Health Support, and Medical Advice Line.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts.
  • Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage.
  • 401(k) matching.
  • Paid time off and parental leave.
  • Sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).

Pay

USA, WA, Seattle - $167,400.00 - $226,500.00 USD annually.
