Senior Product Manager, Fleet Planning and Optimization

Amazon · Nashville, TN · 2 wk ago
ManagementFull-time

At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. One customer experience we're constantly improving is how we fulfill and deliver orders. The goal is to build a world-class last-mile operation, exceeding customer expectations by ensuring orders—large or small—are delivered quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively. To achieve this, Amazon innovates and pioneers new products and services to maintain best-in-class service levels.

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead fleet utilization and third-party (3P) rental optimization initiatives for our Last Mile delivery network. You will own and drive fleet utilization improvements through structured programs, ensuring Amazon maximizes the value of every vehicle in the network. This includes identifying system waste, improving planning and execution, and building accountability mechanisms for sustained, measurable results.

A critical objective is reducing reliance on 3P paid rentals, which have a higher cost-per-route than branded vehicles, by ensuring Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) fully leverage their branded vehicle allocations. The role requires engaging stakeholders and delivery partners to close utilization gaps, establishing standard operating procedures, and tracking compliance across the network.

This is a highly visible role with senior leaders, involving regular business and planning reviews. It demands a quantitative and analytical approach balanced with business judgment to shape fleet utilization strategy. The ideal candidate will span strategic and tactical issues effortlessly while obsessing over DSP experience.

  • Own branded fleet capacity planning, developing a long-term vision and aligned allocation strategy.
  • Use technology and algorithms to build a scalable, logical, and simplified fleet allocation process.

  • Lead reviews with senior operations leadership on fleet planning and monitor progress in fleet capacity build and utilization.
  • Build strong partnerships with operations functions to track vehicle deployment, measure performance, and respond to variations.
  • Prioritize DSP experience by creating realistic fleet capacity plans and tracking compliance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology.
