About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables and direct customer and business impact. We are looking for talented people who are builders at core and obsessed about solving problems for our customers at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Define product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for external network services
  • Drive cross-functional execution with engineering, sales, marketing, and support teams
  • Own business outcomes including revenue growth, customer adoption, and market positioning
  • Engage with enterprise customers and partners to understand requirements and validate solutions
  • Make high-judgment trade-offs between features, technical debt, and time-to-market
  • Manage P&L responsibility and drive operational excellence

Requirements

The Route 53 team is seeking a talented, self-directed Senior Product Manager to drive key areas of our strategy and vision for Route 53. In this role, you will define, execute, and deliver a product roadmap that adds great value to our internal and external customers. This role is inherently cross-functional - you will work closely with customers (direct interactions), the engineering team, solution architects, design, sales, finance and executive teams. You will advocate for our customers and help us build the future of DNS services including Private and Public DNS. In this role, you will join a diverse team of Product Managers, UX designers, solution architects, software, hardware, and network engineers. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
  • 3+ years of product management in the cloud computing technology space experience
  • 3+ years of P&L management and pricing experience
  • 5+ years of creating written docs for development of new products experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, finance, or economics
  • Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
  • Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)
  • 5+ years of cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system experience, or Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field

Skills

  • Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

Benefits

Inclusive Team Culture - Here at AWS, it’s in our nature to learn and be curious. Our employee-led affinity groups foster a culture of inclusion that empowers us to be proud of our differences.
