Senior Product Manager
About the role
Help organizations understand, govern, and optimize what they invest to secure their digital estate. Security is one of the fastest-growing areas of enterprise investment. As customers adopt AI-powered and consumption-based security services at scale, they need a clear, unified way to see what security costs, how it is consumed, and how to optimize it, so they can invest with confidence and maximize the value of every dollar spent on protection. You will build the platform and experiences that power billing, cost management, and FinOps for Microsoft Security, spanning the core platform and the customer-facing experiences that give customers transparent, trustworthy, and actionable cost visibility. You will partner deeply across Microsoft Security, commerce, and cost management teams to deliver one consistent story across every experience.
Responsibilities
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the platform and experiences that power billing, cost management, and FinOps across the Microsoft Security portfolio.
- Develop deep understanding of customer needs across security leaders, FinOps practitioners, finance, and administrators, and translate them into clear product requirements and differentiated experiences.
- Shape both the core platform and the customer-facing experiences that deliver clear, actionable cost and usage insights.
- Drive a consistent, unified cost and billing story across every customer experience.
- Partner across Microsoft Security product teams, commerce, cost management, and platform and experience teams to align strategy and execution.
- Champion alignment to industry-standard FinOps practices (e.g., the FinOps Foundation framework) so Security experiences map to how customers actually operate.
- Represent the team in executive reviews and with customers as a credible voice on security cost transparency and FinOps.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including specialized security screenings such as the Microsoft Cloud Background Check, required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience defining and delivering customer-facing products and/or platforms in cloud services, commerce/billing, enterprise software, or a related area.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-team initiatives and influence without direct authority.
- Experience translating technical and financial concepts into customer value and clear product direction.
- Strong written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
- Experience with commerce, billing, monetization, cost management, or FinOps (e.g., metering, usage, invoicing, consumption-based models).
- Familiarity with cloud commerce platforms or customer administration and billing surfaces.
- Working knowledge of platform/API design and cost/usage reporting and analytics.
- Understanding of the Microsoft Security portfolio and service monetization.
