About the role

AWS seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a global engineering team responsible for ownership and continuous improvement related to data center liquid cooling infrastructure products within our expanding data center footprint. This role requires hands-on mechanical and manufacturing experience in liquid cooling products, understanding cooling principles, and knowledge of quality manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Possess strong engineering judgement and provide recommendations despite uncertainty
  • Detail and data oriented, with experience engineering air handling, piping and/or pumping products
  • Review, update, and approve equipment submittals
  • Work with global liquid cooling equipment suppliers and manufacturers
  • Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., reliability, operations, design, compliance)
  • Support Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review for both mechanical and electrical issues
  • Listen to the voice of the customer to understand improvements for increased product reliability or availability
  • Contribute to our global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement at a global scale

Requirements

  • 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
  • Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering or Architectural License
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
  • Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

Skills
