About the role

The Senior Product Development Engineer leads the technical component of the New Product Development (NPD) and New Technology Development (NTD) projects from conceptualization and design to validation, certification, and industrialization. This includes defining critical-to-quality requirements early in the project, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Clarify project input and ensure alignment with project needs
  • Organize technical activities and validate schedules
  • Create and maintain technical documentation repositories
  • Write Product Technical Specifications (PTS)
  • Perform product design and models
  • Conduct calculations, CFD, and FEA to validate designs
  • Manage subcontracted engineering activities
  • Write technical documents for product implementation
  • Coordinate technical meetings with other departments
  • Facilitate design reviews throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify and mitigate project risks
  • Complete functional analysis and associated FMEA
  • Incorporate Design for X (DFX) principles
  • Define design rules and improve processes
  • Train new product users across the company
  • Support prototype testing and analyze results
  • Prepare and submit invention disclosures

Requirements

  • M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 10 years of core design engineering experience
  • Advanced knowledge in fluid dynamics
  • Working knowledge in FEA/CFD, preferably using Solid Works/ANSYS
  • Strong material knowledge in valve & material applications, typically used in O&G, Refinery & Power sectors
  • Proven track record in valve design, particularly in safety and pressure relief valves
  • Experience in new product design is an added advantage
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams across regions and time zones

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Core design engineering experience
  • Advanced knowledge in mechanical design concepts
  • Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics
  • Working knowledge in FEA/CFD, preferably using Solid Works/ANSYS
  • Strong material knowledge in valve & material applications
  • Proven track record in valve design
  • Experience in new product design
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams

Skills
