Senior Product Designer / Investment Banking / NYC
About the role
A leading global financial services firm seeks a Senior Product Designer to lead the modernization of internal technology supporting critical business functions. Reporting to the Program Manager for Investment Banking IT, you will design tools that directly impact how advisory teams operate.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design strategy for internal Investment Banking technology and business-critical systems
- Own the end-to-end design process from discovery and user research through journey mapping, prototyping, usability testing, and final development handoff
- Design intuitive experiences for complex workflows and data-heavy applications used by sophisticated financial professionals
- Serve as the design lead for a high-priority CRM platform and related product initiatives
- Manage and mentor a small team of UX researchers and designers, providing feedback, guidance, and professional development
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Change Management teams to align user needs with technical feasibility and business objectives
- Conduct user research and translate findings into actionable product and design recommendations
- Establish and maintain UX standards, documentation, and processes that improve consistency across the department
- Develop journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that communicate solutions clearly to both technical and business stakeholders
- Establish data and measurement practices that track feature adoption and provide insights to inform future product roadmaps
- Present design concepts and recommendations to senior executives and cross-functional leadership
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve platform adoption, operational efficiency, and the overall user experience for internal banking teams
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Product Design or UX Design experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating enterprise-grade products, particularly complex data environments, internal systems, or business-critical applications
- Financial services experience strongly preferred
- Deep experience with UX Research and data-driven product design, including establishing practices to measure adoption and inform product decisions
- Advanced proficiency with modern design and collaboration tools such as Figma and Miro
- Strong understanding of user-centered design, journey mapping, interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, and design systems
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to confidently present and defend design decisions to senior executives and cross-functional partners
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Technology, Data, Product, and business teams
- Ability to work during core U.S. East Coast business hours and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
