Senior Product Designer, Growth

Vercel · New York, United States · 1 wk ago
RemoteRemoteDesign$172k–$258k/yrFull-time

Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company. We free people and agents to ship what’s next. For over a decade, we’ve shaped how the web is built through products like Next.js, v0, and AI SDK. Now, we’re building the platform for the next generation of software—trusted by companies like OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.

About the Role

You’ll help define Growth Design at Vercel and shape the complete self-serve journey: signup, onboarding, first project and deployment, adoption, conversion, expansion, and retention. The work spans people, agents, and the handoffs between them. You’ll report into Product Design and collaborate closely with Growth Product, Engineering, and Data.

You’ll have the authority and support to move from an observed problem to a working prototype, shipped experience, and measured result. Vercel provides unlimited access to leading LLMs and in-house tools for exploring product data. If a tool limits your work, you can partner directly with its builders or improve it yourself.

This role does not come with a mature Growth Design playbook or stable briefs. Priorities shift as evidence arrives, and some experiments may not ship. Our data and tools allow us to validate hypotheses quickly. You should enjoy finding the right problem, making something real, working through implementation, and staying accountable after launch.

If you’re based within commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you're located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Own the self-serve experience across onboarding, activation, adoption, monetization, and retention for people and agents.
  • Find high-impact opportunities through customer research, product data, and direct use of Vercel.
  • Co-own Growth strategy, priorities, hypotheses, and success measures with Growth Product, Engineering, and Data.
  • Build and test working prototypes using tools like Figma, v0, Cursor, and Claude Code.
  • Design and ship experiments, stay involved through implementation, and interpret results while maintaining trust, accessibility, and funnel integrity.
  • Turn successful experiments into durable product improvements, reusable patterns, and better internal tools. Share learnings to improve Design and Growth processes.

Qualifications

  • Your portfolio demonstrates strong product design fundamentals and measurable outcomes, showing how you identified opportunities, framed problems, tested ideas, and improved shipped products.
  • You’ve owned ambiguous, complex work from problem framing through launch and iteration, creating clarity and progress without waiting for a complete brief.
  • You can form useful hypotheses, choose success and guardrail measures, and interpret quantitative and qualitative evidence with Data partners.
  • You build interactive prototypes independently using modern AI tools and are comfortable prompting, working near code, and learning new tools to validate ideas.
  • You design clear, trustworthy experiences across skill levels and abilities, caring about interaction details, edge cases, language, accessibility, and recovery.
  • You work directly with Product, Engineering, and Data, explain tradeoffs clearly, seek feedback early, and stay involved through implementation.

Skills

  • Bonus if you’ve shipped AI or agent experiences.
  • Bonus if you have an engineering background or experience contributing production web code.
  • Bonus if you’ve designed developer tools, infrastructure, or other technical products, or are already familiar with Vercel.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Learn and Grow: mentorship and event opportunities to build your network and skills.
  • Flexible Time Off.
  • We provide the gear you need for your role and a WFH budget to outfit your space.

Pay

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $172,000 - $258,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role.
