Responsibilities

• Lead the product design function collaborating closely with Leadership, Engineering, Product and Marketing teams
• Design the full user journey for Symbiotic's product stack making onchain complexity legible and optimising for clean user flows
• Surface risk, exposure, and returns so users understand what they're committing to and what happens when conditions change
• Run user research: interview users, observe behavior, and translate findings into concrete feature scopes for engineering
• Partner closely with Engineering to define problems, weigh tradeoffs, and design within real protocol constraints

Requirements

• Deep on-chain fluency: wallets, approvals, signing, gas, transaction lifecycle, chain latency — and a working understanding of how each constrains design
• Experience shipping a DeFi product to real users (portfolio should demonstrate this)
• A portfolio showing end-to-end product work — systems-level thinking alongside obsessive detail
• Track record of operating autonomously in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with limited oversight
• Comfortable without scaffolding: no inherited design team, design system, or pre-queued work
• Proactive in running your own research rather than waiting for it to be handed to you
• Excellent cross-functional communication — able to partner closely with Engineering and hold a position under scrutiny
• Deep fluency in Figma and modern prototyping workflows
