About the company
Rebuild is an operating system for restoration contractors who specialize in mitigating damage to homes and rebuilding them after disasters—from catastrophic events to smaller-scale damage like floods, fires, and mold. Our initial product uses AI to generate insurance-compliant estimates in minutes, replacing a weeks-long process that previously resulted in low margins for restorers. This is just the first step toward improving contractor efficiency and accuracy in a market with over $210 billion in climate-related property damages. We raised our Series A in Q3 2026 from Asymmetric Capital Partners, with follow-ons from Gutter Capital and 25Madison.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end product design: lead discovery in the field with contractors on active job sites, map user journeys, create low- and high-fidelity UI, and collaborate with engineers through the design-build-launch-iterate cycle.
- Conduct customer research: talk to users, perform interviews and usability testing, and translate insights into actionable decisions across the organization.
- Set and uphold the craft bar: raise the standard for what we ship, ensure consistently exceptional experiences for customers, and maintain quality during high-stakes disaster response.
- Build and evolve Rebuild’s design system: establish key patterns and approaches to ensure scalable, high-quality front-end code as we onboard dozens of agents daily.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of owning large, ambiguous problems end-to-end at startups, with the ability to articulate the full lifecycle of past projects—from inception to outcomes, lessons learned, and refinements.
- End-to-end product design skills: ability to turn research into compelling insights that elevate the entire company’s understanding of the customer.
- Passion for solving real-world problems at the intersection of software and physical restoration, helping people rebuild their lives faster.
- Strong opinions, loosely held: experience using this mindset to collaborate effectively, improve team dynamics, and accelerate product velocity.
- Demonstrated ability to explore and iterate through design concepts, gather team feedback, and navigate engineering constraints and opportunities.
