About the role
The Senior Product Designer will own the design of Neural Earth’s geospatial intelligence platform. This platform is used by analysts, underwriters, and operators to make high-stakes decisions using AI-powered spatial data. The role involves leading design end-to-end across core products, from map-based risk dashboards to AI-assisted decision workflows.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex geospatial and AI-driven workflows into interfaces that feel intuitive to non-technical users, making model outputs, confidence levels, and spatial data legible without sacrificing depth.
- Drive user research and usability testing across core user personas (analysts, underwriters, and operators), synthesizing insights into design decisions grounded in real-world use.
- Partner with engineers and data scientists throughout the build cycle, using front-end literacy to close the gap between design intent and implementation quality.
- Advance Neural Earth’s design system, establishing scalable patterns for geospatial UI, AI explainability, and data visualization that raise the quality bar across the entire product surface.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in product design, with a focus on complex data or geospatial products.
- Prior experience in B2B SaaS, climate tech, insurance, infrastructure, or defense sectors.
- Experience designing for AI-assisted or model-driven products where communicating uncertainty and confidence is part of the UX challenge.
- Familiarity with mapping libraries and geospatial tools, and the ability to hold a meaningful conversation about the technical constraints of map-first product design.
- Strong communication skills to articulate design rationale clearly to engineers, product managers, and executive stakeholders.
- Comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and a self-starter who takes ownership of your work without waiting to be directed.
