About the Company

At GoGuardian, we’re helping build a future where all learners are ready and inspired to solve the world’s greatest challenges. Our award-winning system of learning solutions is purpose-built for K-12 and trusted by school leaders to promote effective teaching and equitable engagement while helping empower educators to keep students safe.

We are an outcomes-focused learning company with a steadfast focus on improving learning environments, one classroom at a time. Working with us means joining a remote team of diverse, committed, mission-driven employees who are inspired by our vision, dedicated to our customers, and ready to roll up their sleeves. Guardians collaborate to solve problems, learn from experiments, and stand together with full accountability. We balance diligence with an inclusive culture that invites everyone to bring their whole self to work.

About the Role

GoGuardian's New Products team operates like a startup inside the company: a small senior team with its own mandate, its own operating space, and a direct line to leadership. In the last four months, the team has shipped two new products into real schools, and there is more on the way. We are hiring a Senior Product Designer to own the end-to-end user experience for one of these products.

This is a high-autonomy role where you’ll lead the design for your product, from strategy and interaction design to polished visual craft, and become a trusted voice for UX decisions. Focusing on one product gives you depth most designers rarely have: fewer context switches, deeper customer understanding, and the space to build genuine expertise in the digital safety insights space.

You will report to and partner closely with our Lead UX Designer, receiving regular coaching from someone with deep hands-on design experience. You’ll collaborate on design direction, share work early and often, and contribute to principles that will shape our newest products. You’ll also work closely with Product and Engineering from early strategy through implementation in a highly collaborative team.

We keep processes lightweight and adaptable, experimenting with new ways of working as the team evolves. You’ll have a clear mandate, real data, real customers, PM partners, and a senior engineering team, along with the trust and support to make thoughtful decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end user experience for one of our products, from early strategy through polished, shipped design.
  • Make strategic design decisions grounded in product goals and customer needs, becoming the go-to person for UX decisions.
  • Bring fresh ideas and a clear point of view to the digital safety insights space.
  • Collaborate closely with PMs and senior engineers from strategy and discovery through implementation, making thoughtful tradeoffs and shipping at a weekly cadence.
  • Partner with PMs to learn from real users, synthesize qualitative and quantitative evidence, and turn insights into clear product and design direction.
  • Turn complex product challenges into experiences that help users quickly understand what matters and confidently take the next step.
  • Partner with our Lead UX Designer to refine design direction and maintain a cohesive, high-quality experience across our growing product portfolio.
  • Help build a strong design culture by bringing curiosity, thoughtful feedback, and a willingness to challenge assumptions while helping the team arrive at better decisions together.

Qualifications

  • You’ve designed and shipped live software products, including at least one you owned end-to-end from concept through launch. We will ask specifically about your contributions, influence, and outcomes.
  • You bring strong judgment and comfort navigating ambiguity, using research, collaboration, and sound judgment to shape the path forward when there isn’t a clear playbook.
  • You understand the "why" behind the work, connecting design decisions to customer needs, product goals, and business outcomes.
  • You create clarity from complexity, designing experiences that help users quickly understand what’s happening and confidently take the next step.
  • You bring strong craft across both interaction and visual design, with a high bar for quality and attention to detail.
  • You bring people along by explaining design decisions clearly, inviting feedback early, and building alignment with PMs and engineers.
  • You care deeply about the people you design for. K-12 or education technology experience is a plus, but caring about safe and engaging learning environments is essential.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay, complete health insurance, 401(k) matching, and an employee equity plan.
  • Flexible time off, paid holidays, paid parental leave, and a paid year-end holiday break.
  • A robust catalog of benefits supporting professional growth and personal wellbeing, including work-from-home funds, fertility & adoption reimbursement, and more.
  • A varied and challenging role in an innovative, global company with supportive, driven colleagues who share your passion.

Pay

The typical base salary range for this position is $145,000–165,000 per year. Your pay will be determined by factors including your primary work location, skills, qualifications, and experience. Additional benefits information is listed on our careers page.
