About the role

Akkio is the AI infrastructure platform that powers and automates workflows across the media ecosystem. We are a fast-growing team building the future of AI-enabled operations, and we are looking for talented people to join us to shape the future of media work.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Product Designer at Akkio, you will play an essential role in designing the features our agency partners use to plan, run, and measure campaigns every day. You'll be a strong product thinker and visual designer who can connect user problems to business outcomes, working hand in hand with our product, engineering, and go-to-market teams on some of our most important features.

How You Work

  • Ship to learn. You'd rather get something rough in front of a partner this week than spend a month polishing the wrong thing.
  • Prototype in code when speed matters, and you know the difference between "this needs to be perfect" and "this just needs to teach us something."
  • Question the foundations. Most UI primitives were designed for a world where humans did all the clicking. You're excited to rethink them and invent patterns that feel native to how strategists actually collaborate with agents.
  • Treat AI as leverage that expands your range as a designer.
  • Track the technology. LLMs, agents, and foundation models are moving fast. You follow the releases, understand what's newly possible, and design for the product Akkio will be in six months, not just the one it is today.
  • Don't trade craft for speed. The pixels, the copy, the empty states, the error handling: you care about all of it. You've figured out how to keep that care alive inside a team that ships every week.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full design process. From challenging the brief, through user research with agency partners, to production-ready specs. You're comfortable holding the whole problem in your head, not just the screen in front of you.
  • Design for agentic workflows. Akkio is building the infrastructure for agents that autonomously execute campaign work end to end. You'll design the moments where humans and agents hand off, negotiate, and verify. Very few designers have done this before. We'll figure it out together.
  • Partner closely with engineering. We ship fast. You'll be building alongside engineers when decisions get made, verifying the user experience in real time. Not handing off and hoping for the best.
  • Raise the craft bar. Akkio's UI is the surface that turns complex AI into something a media strategist can trust. The pixels, the copy, the empty states, the error handling. All of it matters, and you'll own that standard.
  • Tell the story. You'll present work to leadership, our agency partners, and the broader team. High-stakes reviews should be purposeful and exciting.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of product design experience, with real ownership on complex B2B or enterprise software.
  • A strong bias to execution coupled with high visual craft standards and attention to detail.
  • AI-reflexivity: you already use agentic building tools in your daily practice. You see AI as a creative partner and are familiar with front-end frameworks because you have been using AI to design working prototypes.
  • You have opinions about how AI changes product design itself, and you're vocal about them.
  • Your portfolio shows your process, not just polished final frames. We want to see how you scope problems, where you chose speed over polish, and what you'd do differently.
  • Comfort with ambiguity. Many of the problems we're solving don't have reference patterns yet.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Join Akkio and help transform how media companies leverage AI in marketing and advertising.
  • Be at the forefront of applying AI technologies to solve real business problems in a rapidly evolving industry, with direct impact on product direction and company growth while working with major clients in the media space.
  • This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a well-funded AI startup where your vision directly shapes how thousands of marketing professionals interact with AI technology.
  • We have a remote-first culture with no central office location. This position is fully remote, with occasional travel to spend face-to-face time with partners and the team.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary range of $160,000 - $200,000 depending on experience, plus equity grants.
  • Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k); generous PTO policy.
  • Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the US.
