Senior Product Designer, Accounting
About the role
The Clio Accounting team is on a mission to automate and tailor the accounting experience to every customer: taking firms from weeks of setup to fully operational and automated on day one. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll define and execute the experience strategy for core Accounting workflows, transaction import, review and matching, and transaction creation and settlement.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product and Engineering to define and execute on experience design strategy and success metrics, using research and insights to prioritize what matters most to customers and the business.
- Design end-to-end experiences across accounting including core workflows from discovery through to release.
- Translate complex accounting domain logic into clear, scalable UI patterns that work across firm sizes, including mid-market and enterprise.
- Shape roadmap and feature decisions through research and prototyping, with a focus on reducing time-to-value and building lasting customer habits.
- Raise the quality bar through polished, accessible, cohesive experiences that make accounting feel approachable.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience designing digital products, B2B SaaS and Accounting experience is preferred, but not required.
- A strong portfolio that showcases your experience designing intuitive product experiences - account setup, financial management, transaction creation, financial automation.
- Comfort with habit-forming and activation design thinking beyond first use toward long-term customer success.
- Strong craft across interaction design, information architecture, usability, and visual design, with consistently high-quality execution.
- Strong customer-centric practice, with the ability to translate customer insight into actionable design direction.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including clear articulation of rationale and trade-offs.
- A collaborative, low-ego partner — you facilitate alignment, clarify trade-offs, and drive confident execution.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in Accounting and Fintech product design, with a proven ability to turn complex financial workflows into intuitive, high-impact experiences.
- Advocate for customer needs in trade-offs, sequencing, and cross-functional decision-making.
- Drive alignment through crisp storytelling and proactive collaboration across teams.

Pay
The expected salary range* for this role is $128,400 to $151,000 to $173,600 CAD. There are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency. Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio.
Schedule
The role requires working in the office a minimum of twice per week on our designated Anchor Days.
