About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Senior Product Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will serve as a strategic legal partner to a high-growth product organization, helping shape decisions across the product lifecycle. You will advise cross-functional teams on emerging features, identify and mitigate legal risk, and help enable thoughtful, business-minded solutions. The position also requires close collaboration with stakeholders working on AI-related products and broader innovation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the mini-GC for a high-growth business unit, addressing a wide range of legal issues
- Act as the legal partner for teams creating next-generation products and features
- Advise cross-functional stakeholders throughout the product life cycle
- Streamline legal topics and serve as an ambassador for reviews
- Identify and mitigate legal risks related to AI products
- Develop creative strategies for handling legal issues and scaling solutions
- Monitor regulatory developments in AI and provide guidance to stakeholders
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school; admitted in good standing in at least your local jurisdiction
- 7+ years of relevant legal experience in B2B SaaS or tech companies, including time at a top law firm
- Strong understanding of intellectual property, AI governance, and data privacy laws
- Demonstrated culture of problem-solving that leads to getting to "yes, if..."
- Ability to handle ambiguity with a creative problem-solving mindset
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience growing legal functions and understanding best practices
