About the Role
Purchases the most critical and complex, high-dollar products requiring close administration regarding price, delivery, and quality. Acts as a staff advisor to the Procurement and Subcontracts Manager.
Responsibilities
- Locate sources of supply for purchasing and obtain information from individuals.
- Use computers to enter, access, or retrieve data.
- Develop and maintain constructive, cooperative working relationships with others.
- Communicate with supervisors, peers, subordinates, and external parties (customers, government, public) via telephone, written form, email, or in person.
- Coordinate major quoting activities and maintain complete, accurate documentation for audit trails.
- Communicate and report on pending negotiations, keeping management aware of potential issues affecting production.
- Plan and execute all major contract negotiations with suppliers.
- Assist in developing and implementing purchasing procedures, reviewing them regularly for improvements.
- Motivate and train buying personnel, and help evaluate their performance.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
- Minimum of fifteen years’ experience in Purchasing.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and business judgment skills.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $130K–$175K, based on factors such as experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market conditions. Employees may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
