Your Next Opportunity
The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for planning, forecasting, logistics, purchasing, and releasing of commodity construction materials, electrical equipment, lighting, and supplies as assigned. This role also provides leadership, training, and management as needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute complex and technical bid invitations or requests for proposal, including logistics, warehousing, kitting, cutting, and packaging requirements; receive, analyze, and recommend approval of bids most advantageous to Rosendin.
- Process difficult and unique purchasing transactions in accordance with state laws, federal statutes, and Rosendin policies and procedures.
- Assist departments with specification development and draft RFPs.
- Review, analyze, and approve all purchases where the award is not made to the low bidder to ensure justification exists and policy is followed.
- Review, analyze, research, and approve purchases of a non‑competitive nature.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection/quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of deficiency and take corrective action.
- Plan all aspects of purchasing from project award to closeout.
- Participate in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers and professional service providers.
- Oversee execution of the purchasing buy‑out.
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
- Collaborate with estimating management, design professionals, and site management; provide feedback to assist in analyzing market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
- Enforce procurement policies and procedures for the project team.
- Provide projections, financial planning, expediting, delivery schedules, and project purchasing reporting.
- Develop and review all procurement analytics, reporting, and deliverables.
- Supervise buyers/expeditors when necessary.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials.
- Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, and accounting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; supervisory ability.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and Oracle.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
- Capability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
- Professional interaction with all employee levels, vendors, clients, and others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of electrical construction purchasing experience.
- Combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Working Conditions
- General work environment includes sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending.
- Work is primarily indoors with varying conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
- Noise level is usually low to medium, but can be loud on the jobsite.
- Compliance with ADA and applicable state law, including reasonable accommodations for qualified disabled applicants and employees.
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lb.
