About the role
The Senior Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in Rosendin, a leading EMPLOYEE-OWNED electrical contractor. They are responsible for planning, forecasting, logistics, purchasing, and releasing of commodity construction materials, electrical equipment, lighting, and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and distributes complex and technical bid invitations or requests for proposal including logistics, warehousing, kitting, and cutting and packaging requirements as required;
- Receives, analyzes, and recommends approval of bids most advantageous to Rosendin;
- Processes difficult and unique purchasing transactions according to state laws, federal statutes, policies, and procedures established by Rosendin;
- Aids departments with specification development, drafts RFP;
- Reviews, analyzes and approves all purchases where award is not made to the low bidder to ensure justification exists and policy is followed;
- Reviews, analyzes, researches and approves purchases of a non-competitive nature;
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of deficiency and take corrective action;
- Plan all aspects of purchasing from project award to closeout;
- Company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers and professional service providers;
- Oversee execution of the purchasing buy-out;
- The maintenance of records of goods ordered and received;
- Feedback to assist in analyzing market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability;
- Enforce procurement policies and procedures to project team;
- Projections, financial planning, expediting, delivery schedules and project purchasing reporting;
- The development and review of all procurement analytics, reporting and deliverables;
- Be able to provide supervision to buyer / expeditor when necessary.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials;
- Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies and accounting;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Must exhibit supervisory skills;
- Work independently with minimum supervision;
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.);
- Oracle;
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary;
- Work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude;
- Oral and written communication skills as required for the position;
- Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player;
- Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management of related discipline;
- Minimum 5 years electrical construction purchasing experience;
- Combination of education, training and relevant experience;
- Travel Up to 0%;
- Occasional work events;
- Working Conditions General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
