About the role
The Senior Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in Rosendin, a leading EMPLOYEE-OWNED electrical contractor. They are responsible for various aspects of procurement, including bidding, purchasing, and managing supply chains. This position requires a thorough understanding of electrical equipment and materials, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute complex and technical bid invitations or requests for proposal, including logistics, warehousing, kitting, and cutting and packaging requirements as required.
- Receive, analyze, and recommend approval of bids most advantageous to Rosendin.
- Process difficult and unique purchasing transactions according to state laws, federal statutes, policies, and procedures established by Rosendin.
- Aid departments with specification development, draft RFPs, and review, analyze, and approve all purchases where award is not made to the low bidder to ensure justification exists and policy is followed.
- Review, analyze, research, and approve purchases of a non-competitive nature.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of deficiency and take corrective action.
- Plan all aspects of purchasing from project award to closeout, including company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers and professional service providers.
- Oversee execution of the purchasing buy-out, maintain records of goods ordered and received, and provide feedback to assist in analyzing market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
- Develop and review all procurement analytics, reporting, and deliverables.
- Provide supervision to buyers/expediters when necessary.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials.
- Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, and accounting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must exhibit supervisory skills.
- Work independently with minimum supervision.
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), Oracle.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
- Work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
- Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years electrical construction purchasing experience.
- Combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Skills

- Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in computer software, particularly Microsoft Office and Oracle.
