Senior Procurement Manager

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Purchasing Manager at our Guymon facility. This senior leadership role oversees the purchasing and receiving functions supporting one of the largest pork processing operations in the country.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the plant purchasing and receiving team to ensure high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the timely preparation, processing, and approval of requisitions and purchase orders to support uninterrupted operations.
• Manage plant-level inventory through effective min/max levels, reorder points, and obsolete material processes to minimize shortages and waste.
• Partner with Operations, Food Safety, and Quality Assurance to ensure purchased goods meet specifications, compliance standards, and delivery requirements.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships while driving supplier performance, competitive pricing, and risk reduction strategies.
• Ensure accurate and efficient procure-to-pay processes by collaborating with Accounting and Corporate teams on invoice reconciliation and payment.
• Provide reporting and analysis of key purchasing metrics to management, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Develop and manage plant purchasing budgets, forecasts, and capital plans aligned with divisional and corporate strategies.
• Implement and sustain inventory management systems and processes that safeguard accuracy and comply with regulatory and food safety requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging lean and best practices to optimize purchasing, receiving, and supply chain effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible purchasing, inventory, or supply chain management experience, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret data and apply insights.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate information to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
