Senior Procurement Manager
Position Summary
The Senior Procurement Manager will lead the procurement function at Crestview Aerospace, supporting the company's aerospace and defense programs. Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain & Quality, this role involves shaping sourcing strategy, strengthening supplier partnerships, and ensuring the timely, cost-effective flow of materials and services.
Essential Job Functions
Lead procurement strategy, execution, supplier management, cost reduction, compliance, and continuous improvement across Crestview Aerospace.
Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, systems, controls, reports, and KPIs that support operational and business objectives.
Manage purchasing of production materials, supplies, services, and capital equipment, including requisition review, purchase order execution, and commercial negotiations.
Create sourcing strategies that reduce supply risk, improve supplier performance, support annual operating plan objectives, and drive cost savings.
Identify, qualify, develop, and manage suppliers based on capability, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, financial stability, responsiveness, and compliance.
Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Receiving, Accounts Payable, and Finance to align procurement with schedules, forecasts, inventory goals, and production priorities.
Analyze MRP/ERP demand, forecasts, lead times, reorder levels, supplier constraints, and inventory parameters to ensure timely, economical purchasing.
Expedite orders and resolve supplier delivery, invoice, quality, documentation, contract, and performance issues to prevent production disruption.
Lead, coach, develop, and organize procurement personnel to ensure performance, accountability, training, and succession readiness.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, ethical expectations, customer requirements, and applicable laws and regulations; perform related duties as assigned.
Principal Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Communicate effectively through written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal interactions with suppliers, customers, employees, and leadership.
Demonstrate leadership by organizing work, developing staff, building accountability, and influencing cross-functional teams.
Apply strong ERP/MRP, purchasing, supplier management, procurement reporting, spreadsheet, Microsoft Office, and online research skills.
Interpret technical requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing documentation, forecasts, supplier performance, cost data, inventory parameters, contracts, and process information.
Use analytical, problem-solving, and financial skills to assess data, identify root causes, calculate purchasing-related measures, and develop practical solutions.
Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy, urgency, sound judgment, confidentiality, and high ethical standards.
Apply knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, quality requirements, supplier qualification, and supply chain risk management; travel to supplier locations as needed.
Professional Requirements, Qualifications & Desired Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is required.
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible procurement, purchasing, materials, supply chain, operations, or manufacturing experience; aerospace or complex manufacturing experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Working conditions are generally normal for an office and manufacturing environment.
The role may require interaction with production areas, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, communicate effectively, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities may include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Travel to supplier locations may be required based on business needs.
