Senior Process Maintenance Technician
About the role
The Senior Process Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing solid dose manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation in a GMP-regulated facility. They provide technical leadership, drive reliability improvements, and support strategic projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and modification of GMP equipment, control systems, and power systems; interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions while exercising sound technical judgment.
- Lead and support preventive and predictive maintenance programs using CMMS/SAP PM, including vibration analysis and thermography, while accurately documenting maintenance activities and supporting maintenance KPIs.
- Provide technical expertise for equipment upgrades, modifications, capital projects, and reliability initiatives in partnership with engineers, managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, OSHA, and site safety requirements; lead risk assessments, LOTO procedures, confined space protocols, and represent maintenance during audits and regulatory inspections.
- Drive continuous improvement by leading root cause analyses (RCA), implementing corrective actions, reducing downtime, and improving equipment reliability and operational performance.
- Train, mentor, and develop technicians at all levels, providing technical guidance and leadership during complex maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Associates degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Technology (or equivalent experience) and 6–10+ years of maintenance and reliability experience within a regulated manufacturing environment; bachelor’s degree or technical certifications preferred.
- Experience supporting predictive maintenance technologies, reliability-centered maintenance programs, and reliability engineering practices to improve equipment performance and uptime.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting OSD manufacturing equipment, including compression, granulation, and packaging systems, within solid oral dose or liquid pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading or supporting audits, regulatory inspections, capital projects, and cross-functional initiatives, serving as a maintenance representative and technical resource.
- Experience using SAP, CMMS, and reliability analysis tools to manage maintenance activities, while operating effectively in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities and complex maintenance documentation requirements.
