About the role

The Sr. Process Improvement Engineer drives operational stability, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement across processes, equipment, and safety. This role provides technical leadership, develops team members, and leverages Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), quality, and yield.

Responsibilities

  • Lead loss analysis, OEE improvement plan development, execution, and results tracking.
  • Develop and implement capital equipment projects to support OEE improvement plans.
  • Oversee analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
  • Facilitate Lean Six Sigma (LSS) projects using Sara Lee Continuous Excellence (SLCE).
  • Manage the Downtime collection system and develop the team to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
  • Drive data-driven and frontline team-based culture to achieve short- and long-term performance goals.
  • Apply reliability expertise to stabilize operations, reduce variation, and improve Throughput Efficiency (TE).
  • Develop and maintain staffing and scrap standards for manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee process improvement capital projects from design to completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Lead rapid changeover activities, including target setting and reducing changeover time.
  • Provide weekly, period, and year-to-date reliability and variability downtime analysis.
  • Assist in plant initiatives and direct line supervision as needed.
  • Administer policies and procedures to ensure compliance with plant safety, security, and GMP requirements.
  • Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. and presence on the plant floor required.
  • Some off-shift, weekend work, and travel (less than 25%) may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or a related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project.
  • 6+ years of manufacturing experience in a consumer product manufacturing operation.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of making independent, sound decisions.
  • Ability to conduct assessments, audits, and measure progress.
  • Strong understanding of business finance principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications and AutoCAD 19.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and lead team-based decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, coaching, and driving results in a challenging environment.
