About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Process Improvement Engineer to lead operational excellence within our manufacturing value stream. This role involves optimizing performance within a designated production area, driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Making manufacturing operations more efficient and effective
Leading problem-solving efforts and root cause analysis to address inefficiencies
Implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing practices and standardized work
Coaching equipment operators and Team Leaders to ensure adherence to established processes and standards
Providing leadership and direction to team members, ensuring consistent and fair application of policies, procedures, and work rules
Collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering to plan and execute long-term equipment and process improvement projects
Ensuring accurate and timely completion of payroll, disciplinary documentation, and other administrative responsibilities
Promoting a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Lockout/Tagout procedures, proper PPE usage, leading incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions
Qualifications
5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with emphasis on manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and project execution
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required or in progress, preferably in Engineering or a related field
Experience working with or leading metal fabrication and/or automated equipment operations
Six Sigma certification preferred, with strong knowledge of Lean, DMAIC, and continuous improvement methodologies
Proven track record of driving results using analytical problem-solving, project planning, and cross-functional teamwork
Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles in an operational setting
Leadership experience or technical expertise in areas such as manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, materials management, quality, procurement, or fulfillment
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels, including maintaining positive union relations
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
High level of initiative, energy, and motivation, with a commitment to team success and professional growth
Demonstrated technical proficiency in manufacturing or operations environments
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving abilities with consistent follow-through on initiatives
Willingness to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including occasional off-shift, on-call, and weekend work
