About the role
As a Process Engineer, you will be involved from proof of concept to mass production readiness. You will define the architecture of system concepts based on core starting points, ideas, and market opportunities in collaboration with Product Managers. Together with the System Engineering team, you will transform concepts into actual project plans.
Responsibilities
- Creates new projects from a broad and multidisciplinary architectural viewpoint
- Conceptualizes the required components
- Oversees the entire system aspects and manages unavoidable “tradeoffs”
- Delivers a complete and complex framework, system, or product
- Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
- Conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses
- Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next-generation initiatives
- Supports tasks such as part failure analysis and generating reports, machine setup, and system-level testing
- Contributes to the development of company objectives and principles to achieve goals in creative and effective ways
- Guides and teaches lower-level employees to solve complex issues
Requirements
- Above 12 years of experience in R&D or Product Engineering; Semiconductor equipment experience is a must
- Wide-ranging experience with mechanical and mathematical modeling tools (Visual Basic, MS Excel, MATLAB, Python, Mathcad)
- Wide-ranging hands-on experience with test set-up, troubleshooting, design of experiments, and lab equipment (e.g., using test equipment such as laser displacement, thermal sensors, accelerometers)
- Able to solve significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles
- Experience with solid modeling CAD software is preferred
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent; a Master’s or above is preferred
- Good written and verbal communication, interpretation, and interpersonal skills
- Flexible to changes in tasks and work environment
- Must be organized, systematic, punctual, and goal-oriented
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Willing to travel on a need basis
